What is the Worksite Wellness Award?

The Florida Tobacco Cessation Alliance Worksite Wellness Award was established as a way to recognize and set a standard to businesses and companies that are providing comprehensive tobacco cessation services to their employees. The Florida Tobacco Cessation Alliance (FTCA) administers the awards. There are two levels that can be earned, Silver or Gold.

What is the Florida Tobacco Cessation Alliance?

The Florida Tobacco Cessation Alliance, lead by the American Lung Association in Florida, is comprised of a network of groups determined to improve the health of our state. The Alliance works together to raise awareness that tobacco addiction is a chronic, relapsing medical condition, not just a habit or personal choice, and to advocate for the adoption of comprehensive tobacco dependency treatment, as a covered health plan benefit, for all tobacco users statewide.

The Florida Tobacco Cessation Alliance formed in April 2010, with support from the national Partnership for Prevention, to promote barrier-free comprehensive tobacco dependency treatment. Comprehensive tobacco dependency treatment saves lives by providing the counseling and pharmacological support necessary for tobacco users to successfully quit.
